Here is an example of a very good quality freestanding antique post Edwardian 5ft oak and leather pedestal desk, circa 1920. The desk boasts a dark green & gold tool leather skiver insert surrounded a by a dragoon moulded edge top. Below, there are 8 large working drawers to one side. The cock-beaded drawers have the original brass key escutcheons and original brass swan neck handles. All drawers feature working locks and a key. To the sides and back of the desk, there are a good quality fielded panels. All drawers are dovetailed. Below, the pedestals sit on raised ball and lion claw feet. The desk is freestanding which means it can be situated in the centre of the room. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport. As this is such a large desk, it means there is significant storage space available.

The desk features a rich oak colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. Condition Report:

This desk is in excellent condition. There are nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desk but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The green leather and gold tooling is in excellent condition and free of any marks, stains wear or damage. We offer a service whereby the leather can be replaced with a leather sand colour of your choice. If you wish us to replace it with a leather skiver of any colour, the cost would be an additional £300. All drawers in the desk features working locks and keys. The drawers close flush to the frame. Free of woodworm, solid in joint; the desk does not wobble and is ready to use.

Delivery to any address in mainland England & Wales is £89. For delivery to Scotland & Ireland, please email for a quote. If you wish to avoid the delivery cost, you can collect the item in person.
