Circa mid 1880\'s or so, for sale is a resistance box. It was manufactured by Alfred Payson Gage, (1836 to 1903) who was a Boston, Mass. teacher and pioneer in manufacturing electrical equipment for classroom and instructional use.It it marked. A.P.Gage Boston Mass
Its possible it was used for classroom instruction, or by a telegraph operator to match his equipment\'s resistance properly to the line.
Its in great shape, and the insides are 100% intact and original.It does not measure with a multimeter, but the dials operate correctly.All parts are there, even the original thread down retainers. It\'s in great condition considering its age.
