Shrewsbury, England.Description:This is a delightful sampler, dated 1825. It is a large size with a good composition- there are many Georgian style motifs, including birds in bird houses, fruiting vines an Indian style palace, flowers in pots and dogs. It is a joyful thing. The text is individual, I think that Sarah Tailor may have been quite young- the font varies in size and the text reads:\'When this you seeRemember me and keepme in your mind let allthe world say whatthe will spake of measyou find Sarah TailorWork this in 1825 yer\'She may have benefitedfrom a little more guidance- but it is very charming none the less!I love samplers and sell them regularly- if you like them also please add my shop to your list of favourites and take a look regularly.
Condition:Very good- the pale colour has faded and is more difficult to see- this is quite a nice feature, there is a hidden heart for example, lots to see. It is not framed- I can possibly find a suitable period frame if the buyer would like, please enquire if this seems like a nice idea.
