This is a lovely English silver hallmarked powder compact.It has a lovely pale blue face with a very tiny bit of glaze missing which is hardly noticable (see picture 2).
Each half is solid silver andis hallmarked with J D & S with a lion and M. The hallmark on the lid is found behind the mirror. It is really hard for me to photograph this as a close-up!
The powder refill is missing. I will be very sad to see this go as it has been in daily use for a long time. It measures approximately 7cm x 7cm.
