Up for consideration is this exceptional antique English mahogany travel lap desk or slope box with brass mounts. PLEASE NOTE: most of the pictures were taken in bright sunlight and came out a bit too light and orange in color...the box has a warm mahogany tone and is slightly darker than shown. The desk has a beautiful fitted interior with a red wine velvet lined writing surface complete with pen tray, stamp box, and inkwell receptacles. The bottom velvet half of the writing surface opens to a clean storage compartment accessed by pulling the silk tab. The desk comes with its functioning key. This is a larger desk and measures 16\" by 9 1/2\" (closed) and stands 5 1/2\" tall and is in excellent condition for its antique age with normal wear commensurate with age such as minor scratches and dings.
