Antique English Sterling Silver & Cut Glass Dresser Jar from the early 1900\'s DescriptionThis is aattractive Edwardianera cut glass jar with a ground glass stopper and sterling silver top.The hinged top opens to reveal a beautifully gilded interior and the stopper is smooth and fits securely. It is such a good fit it was probably for perfume or smelling salts.The heavy glassisdeeply cut with a rosetted design and on the base is a pinwheel design.It stands 2.7\" tall, 1.5\" wide,is monogrammed on the topand weighs147 grams.It is infair condition for it\'s age withsomesmall dents to the silver andsigns of wear. There are no cracks but sometiny chips to the exterior glassthat can be seen under magnification and a more visible one to the base at the back under the hinge. The stopper has no cracks or chips. Thejar is markedon the side of the rim and on theinside of the lid with the English sterling hallmark and a date letter.The assay office is not legible,but it does date from the early 1900\'s. Depending on the assay office it could range from 1909 to 1916.Postage to the USA will be $6.95; to the UK, Europe and other International destinations would be $8.95.
