Antique English Tea Caddy - Coromendal Wood in French Boulle Inlaid Brass:

This is an extremely handsome English RegencyTea Caddy - Coromandel Wood inlaid with Brass inthe French Boulle Fashion.
This is a large piece - measuring 10 inches by 6 3/8inches - standing 6 inches tall.
The Caddy weighs just over 6 pounds.
Beautiful inlaid Brass Marquetry on CoromandelWood on the top - and on 3 sides.
Monogrammed cartouche on the lid - initials E over M.
The interior of the lid - and the tea compartment lidsappear to be made of Satin Wood.
Each of the Compartment lids has a silver metalcartouche - one with the initial G - and the other withthe initial B - which I am assuming stands for Greenand Black Tea.
Exquisitely made - the tea compartments rise approx.1/4 inch when the lids are raised. The compartments canbe removed (Photo #10).
There are traces of old silver tea paper on the interiors.
The Caddy retains the original key - and a tea scoop.
The Tea Compartment lid with the letter G has a very slightwarp on the left front side - best noticed in Photo #7.
Please note that there is an age crack at the bottom ofthe Caddy - Photo #10.
Also - there is a 1 3/4 inch repair on the back left sideof the \"B\" tea compartment - Photo #11.
This is an extremely Handsome piece.
