Holder is 3\" Wide x 2.5\" Tall. Longest skewer measures approx. 7\" long, shortest measures approx. 5\".

Great example of a late 19th century Englishwrought iron skewer holder complete withskewers; I don\'t know if thisthese are original to the set. It has incised Registry #115647 which according to records dates it between 1888-1889.

Commonly hung off mantles an near open hearth fireplaces, skewer holders such as these were used to support meat cooking skewers off one of the two formed arms. As you can see this example is complete withsix skewers.They havesome expected slight oxidation and minor surface rust, one skewer has a slightly bent tip, still overall a fine example.

A charming piece of museum quality English iron, certain to be a highlight of any hearth display or collection of period iron.
