* The size 8 1/2 band is of 18K yellow gold with a top layer of platinum and is unmarked - I had it tested at the time I had the ruby looked at and it tested positive for 18K gold and platinum, the 14 diamonds in the spiral were confirmed as 12 old mine cut diamonds, and 2 later round brilliant replacements ~ the center stone has been confirmed to be an old flame-fusion ruby, probably made in France in the mid-to-late 1800s
* Photo 6 shows the minor issues with this unique ring: 1. bezel that holds the ruby has 2 small joiners that connect the ruby part to the rest of the ring - one of these connections has cracked 2. There are two very tiny, thin connections where the ends of the spiral meet the start of the band - these two connections are broken ~ These are minor defects of this ring and any reputable jeweler can go in and repair me know if you have a question before offerding ~
