Up for sale is this impressive antique George III sterling silver cream jug/ pitcher in the helmet form. The cream jug dates to 1783 and was created by Samuel Meriton II in London. The cream jug features a wonderful hand etched design and features an impressive loop handle. The jug is hallmarked SM, lion, crowned leopard, and date letter h. The jug is in excellent estate fresh condition (please see photos for condition). The jug has been quickly polished and cleaned up wonderfully, there are still a few spots of tarnish that a more in depth cleaning would take care of. The jug measures approx. 5 1/4 inches tall and approx. 5 inches wide from handle to spout and weighs 3.7 ounces (104 grams). This impressive 18th century English silver cream pitcher would make an excellent addition to any home or collection.
