We are pleased to offer a group of 22 pieces of very elegant antique silverplated flatware from Vienna, Austria. The designhas Gothicstyling and is beautiful and elegant. These pieceswere made by J. L. Herrmann in Vienna between 1880 and 1900.

During the late 19th and very early 20th centuries, Vienna was one of the fashion and cultural centers of the world. These pieces were made by a noted silversmith during that glamorous time. Included are 6 hollow handle dinner knives, 6 hollow handle luncheon knives, 6 dinner forks and 4 place spoons; all made in the oversized European style.

Condition: Very good - no silver wear or loss other than minor use scratches. The blades are old carbon steel and as a result,do show somedarkening, but are sharp as razors. There are no monograms and the pattern is crisp and well defined. All pieces have been hand polished so there will be no surprises.

The knives are stamped on the blades: K K H C F & L B Metall W. F., J L Herrmann Wien. The forks and spoons are marked:J L Herrmann with a hallmarkon the backs.

Size: Dinner knives are 101/2\" long, luncheon knives 8 1/2\", forks and spoons are 8 1/2\".
