We are pleased to offer this silverplate and ruby glass honey pot in theshape of a bee.The hinged wings open and close to reveal the honey pot in the abdomen. This piece is unsigned but it is very similar to examples made by Mappin & Webb of London. Thishoney potis oldand not a reproduction. The bee is very good quality, made of brass under the silverplate. The glass honey pot unscrews from the body andit is plastered into athreaded silverplate piece. Thisbee shaped honey potis fresh to the market from a fine local Signature: unsigned. Numbered 156 on bottom and on the silverplate end cap on the glass body.

Age: circa 1920's

Condition:Very goodcondition. There is minor wear to the silverplate on the back of the body, the face, high points of the there is a 3/4" wear line near the tip of the wings. There is also wear with brass showing through on the bottoms of the feet. There is a very slight bend to the wings near the hinge and there are minor scratches from use on the silverplate. The silverplate could be polished if desired. There is one tiny bruise on the left side of the glass body which looks like a smallair bubble and can bee seen with a loupe. There is no spoon.
