Such a beautifully designed hand blown and wheel cut whale oil lamp. It looks as though many hours of shipped labor went into creating this lamp. It looks as though it was made in parts then applied. The font is bulb shaped and square blocks cut making a great optic effect. It\'s nearly 1\" tall and 4\" square. There is a flee bite about half way down on an edge seen in 8. Being Flint glass, along with Victorians living their marble top tables, the base is chipped. Every corner of the base has done damage. Mostly just rough but also a couple chips. It\'s unfortunate, but these things come with age. As seen on the bottom, there\'s plenty of wear and a pontil. This is at least a civil war era glass lamp, if not older. Made by The Boston Sandwich Glass Co. It\'s for a no. 1 size burner, 7/8 threaded collar.
