Antique Flow Blue Platter 15 Inch, Bentick Peonies, Ridgway Cauldon 1830-1841:
$100.02

This \" sale\" offers a gorgeous flow blue platter designed by John Ridgway. The pattern is Bentick although it looks like big oriental peonies to me.

A larger version of this platter is pictured on page 51 in the Collector\'s Encyclopedia of Flow Blue, 2nd series, by Gaston (see pictures).  It identifies the mark, circa 1830-1841, with a crown and coat of arms mark with \"Stone Ware\" in the center, initials JR for John Ridgway, and pattern name Bentick.

This platter is in excellent vintage condition - especially for a piece this old.  Pictures will show it has a couple of teeny, tiny glaze flakes on the rim (can be seen in 2nd picture - enlarge and look at bottom rim) and light utensil marks commensurate with age but nothing that distracts in the slightest.  The cobalt blue is deep and vivid, and the heavy glaze is undiminished.  There are no deep scratches, cracks, chips, discoloration, or other condition issues.

The platter measures 15 inches long and 12-1/2 inches across.  It is a lovely piece and we know the new owner will be pleased to receive items are carefully packaged and shipped within 1-3 days after payment is received.  We are happy to combine shipping costs when possible and we never charge a  handling fee.  Please remit payment within 3 days of sale ending or contact us for other arrangements.  Thanks!

Customer Satisfaction & response

Your satisfaction is our priority.  Please contact me if an item is damaged or wasn\'t adequately described and we will do everything in our power to make it right.  On that note, please also read our description and check out the pictures - we try very hard to provide adequate details and post lots of pictures.

It is official, sister and I are retired now and living in the country.  Not surprising, many of the \"keepers\" we so carefully moved from Boise will not fit in the new house AND sis is still opening boxes.  Between her stuff and the occasional estate sale, we hope to be listing things for many months to come.
