Art Nouveau French Cameo Glass Vase signed \'Legras\'

For the collector of fine antique French cameo glass, we offer this beautiful example by Auguste Jean-FrancoisLegras.

Examples by Legras won prestigious awards in both the Grand Prix in 1889 and in 1900 at the Paris Exhibition. Early pieces fromthe art nouveauperiod are quite rare to find!

This example exhibits a flowering wisteria with leafy branches. The top rim is encircled by a thicker vine like branch. Done in olive brownand purple shades of color on an bluish mottled opalescent background that enhances the handsomedecorative body of the vessel. There were no less than four acid cuttings that were needed to bring out this flowering vine! Please examine all the photos above!

The piece is signed on the lower side of the vase in cameo \'Legras\'.

Measurements: The vase is approximately 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm) in height and approximately 4 inches (9 cm) wide.

Condition: No Cracks, Chips, Repairs or Restorations were noted. Art Glass from any period will have occasional bubbles in the making which is very normal.
