Here is a fantastic buy on a high quality early to mid-twentieth century French style formal dining set including carved banded mahogany table with fabulous cabriole legs and spoon feet and carved edges and knees; burl veneer primary on the tops of the table and server and on the back slats of the chairs; and marvelous crotch mahogany veneer on the center of both the table leaf and top of the server as well as the front of the server drawers. The self storing table leaf stows away when not in use as shown and has carved edges along to match it\'s table as well as the beautiful central crotch mahogany as shown. The six chairs, two arm chairs and four side dining chairs, are all tight and have lovely beige with multi-color floral tapestry seats, all in very nice condition and which highlight the beauty of this remarkable mahogany set with it\'s outstanding carved knees on all eight pieces in addition to it\'s striking form and incredible mahogany veneers. The table and the server are also tight and sturdy like the chairs and this wonderful formal dining set is truly ready for use as is. This wonderful early to mid-twentieth century formal mahogany dining set was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland and clearly has been well cared for in it\'s previous life. This marvelous table measures either 72 inches when closed or 90 inches long with it\'s self storing leaf in place. The table is 42 inches wide with a carved beveled edge and stands 30 1/2 inches tall. The six beautiful matching carved knee chairs with lovely floral tapestry upholstered seats each stand 39 inches tall. The four side dining chairs each measure 22 inches wide at their widest point, which is the carved knee and measure 22 inches front to back, also from the front of their knees to the furthest point on the back of the chair. The tapestry upholstered seats themselves are 18 inches wide tapering to 14 1/2 inches wide across the back and 14 3/4 inches deep front to back. The seat height is 18 inches to the wood frame and 19 inches to the crown of the upholstered seat. The two arm chairs vary in that they measure 25 inches wide at their widest point, the outside of their arms leaving the space between the arms 20 1/2 inches at the widest point and 19 1/2 inches wide at the narrowest point between the arms. The gorgeous server stands 30 inches tall and measures 42 inches wide by 19 1/2 inches front to back. There are two large clean drawers in the server, both 38 inches wide by 15 inches front to back. The top buffet drawer is both divided and felt lined for storing silverware, and measures 3 1/2 inches deep. the lower drawer is 4 1/2 inches deep for additional storage.
