- ~A remarkable find, so amazingly rare and wonderful !This textile is an antique French curtain dating c1830-1840 ~ this textile is extraordinary! Museum quality ~ It is made of panels of light weight , roller printed cotton all hand stitched together and the top has the original rings for hanging. This textile would have hung from a bed ~ the top is reinforced with a stunning strip of indigo dyed , hand woven twill tape . This textile is 100% hand stitched and hemmed along the bottom. It is a remarkable find , fully intact and in WONDERFUL condition ~ the purple is a grape purple ~ ideal for any period interior or a rare addition to any textile collection ~ ( #65)
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely piece measures : 147 inches wide at the bottom, 80 inches long and the top, where it is gathered measures 85 inches wide ~*~
Condition ~ : This gorgeous fabric is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. This textile is in remarkable condition for it\'s age! There are small age marks dotted all around ( like small faded spot) adding charming and authenticity to the piece. A few tiny holes, generally just wonderful condition ~
