Very beautiful french mantle clock by S Marti et Cie, antique, dates back to the 19th century, c. 1889.

The clock stands 14\" tall, 7\" wide and 5\" deep, and is made of gilt metal ( possibly spelter) , with a nice original patina.

Very ornate , with amazing details on all sides.

It features a beautiful Sevres style porcelain plaque in the center, hand- painted with a romantic courtship scene. On each side has a porcelain column painted with a cottage scene, and on top there is a removable light blue porcelain piece, with the top parts missing.

Except for this loss, there are 2 cracks repaired to 2 of the paws feet. They are contained and do not affect the stability of the clock.

Overall the clock is in good condition for its age.

The inside of the clock is marked \" S Marti 1889 Medaille d\'Argent \", and numbered.

No key or pendulum . The movement has not been recently serviced, and is missing parts, so it is sold as not working. Gorgeous display piece nevertheless.
