This extraordinary antique French hand carved wooden wall shelf, “consoled’applique” in French, in the rustic “Black Forest” style, is beautifully designed with a Chamois head (Chamois or Izard in French), also known as agoat antelope. The head hasglass eyes and is topped by a shelf and surrounded by thetraditionalBlack Forestmotif of branches and leaves. This piece is in good condition with the exception oftwo old repairs, one on the leaves on the left hand side and one on the upper part of the right hand horn, as well as a crack in the upper part of the wall panel, underneath the shelf, none of these affect the stability of the piece.This beautiful shelf will be an authentic antique French addition to your decor.Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
