An early 20th century Impressionist oil painting of a young lady by listed artist Jacques Fernand Gonin(French and Italian 1883-1935). Young lady appears to be using a powder brush on her face as a figure attends to her in the background. Estate fresh. Nice fresh, pastel-themed colors in a heavily ornate whitewashed wood frame that looks to be original to the piece. Signed upper left, stamp of Gallerie Henaut Paris on stretcher bar. Curious number 2 sticker(?) lower right, possibly an sale lot number. I have not tried to remove it. The piece is in excellent condition, with just a tiny amount of craquelure. Gonin\'s work has been sold at Christie\'s and other high-end sale houses. Not much is known about the artist, however. He was acclaimed for his portraits of young women, often seated at their vanity.Size:
