This delightful Jacquard woven silk Picture is rather sizeable for this genre and takes a romantic/historic 18th century scene of gentle folk at their leisure at a country fair featuring a Commedia del Artes “Punch and Judy” show. It is softly colored and intricately detailed in the manner of the finer makers (such as Neyret Freres). It is housed in an early 20th century bronze gilt frame and measures 18 ½” x 13” overall.
