Description

A quality antique Napoleon III era French Limoges enamel on copper miniature portrait in grisaille. The scene is beautifully rendered with exquisite detailing, here depicted in grey tones atop a dark ground with gilt accents. Portraying a woman draped in robes, holding a palm frond in her outstretched hand and a halo radiating around her head. Signed A.F. Patasson. Set in an ornate gilt bronze frame patterned with fleur-de-lys and laurel. Backed by a green fabric lined mat, frame having a hinged metal easel accommodating for table top display in addition to a loop ring for hanging. In overall good antique condition with no damage, chips or cracks to the stunning enamel on copper plaque. The frame in good condition showing general wear commensurate with age and use. The frame measures 8 1/4\" x 6\"
