This very old jewelry casket was designed and made specifically to keep the finest of jewelry, as witnessed by the cushion and the small size. This box is from the 1800\'s, made of thick beveled glass and brass ormolu feet and surround. The red cushion is original and in nice condition. Hinges work well. Clasp is intact, but does not fasten securely. Two of the glass pieces move a bit when wiggled, but are secure.The top has a hand painted scene that reads \"Lordes La Grotte\" in France. For it\'s age, it\'s in nice condition and they are hard to find with a scene and the original cushion. The box measures just over 3.5\" at it\'s widest point.
