Antique Porcelain GAUDY WELSH GRAPE BOWL

You are offerding on a largeantique Gaudy Welshbowlin theGrape pattern! I found this piece at an estate sale along with more Gaudy Welsh, other antique and vintage dinnerware, and a lot of other interesting items!

Gaudy Welsh was a hand decorated ware made in England and Wales from the 1820s to the 1860s. It is know for its beautiful colors - blue, orange-rust, and copper luster. Green and yellow sometimes accent the ware. Pink luster may appear here and there, since luster applied to the white areas appears pink. The body of the ware may be creamware, ironstone, earthenware, or porcelain.

Cobalt blue grape leaves ring the center of this large porcelain bowl. Pink luster leaves edge the top of the bowl on the inside. Clusters of grapes and leaves decorate the outside of the bowl.

Thebowl is10\" in diameter and 3 1/8\" tall. There is no maker\'s mark.

There are many utensil marks in the glaze, and much of the glaze is worn on the inside of the bowl.Otherwise, this piece is in good condition. There are no chips, flakes, or cracks!
