This listing is for an Antique General Electric Model J-620 Shortwave & AM Tube Radio in a Wood Cabinet. This radio dates back to the 1940\'s. It is in working condition but it has some issues. In the right hands, these issues might be a very easy fix. The overall appearance of the radio is good. There is some wear on the wood pretty much on every side. There is considerable wear on the top. It looks as if it was unfortunately used to hold drinks through the years. The knobs are all there and they turn correctly. The power/volume knob turns on the unit and raises and lowers the volume correctly. The selection knob will change the unit from Shortwave to AM. The middle tuning knob does not tune the dial on the radio. The radio is currently tuned to WGN 720 AM out of Chicago. It comes in loud and clear. I am located approx. 106 miles from Chicago. When shortwave is selected, nothing comes across but that might be because the unit will not tune properly. The tubes warm up and light up on the inside of the unit. The original power cord has been sliced into a newer cord. It doesn\'t affect the performance but any long term use of this unit should require an entirely new power cord be installed. It measures approx. 15\" x 10 1/2\" x 8 3/4\". Overall, this is a very nice looking radio for its age. It could use a little cosmetic clean up and some repair work. In the right hands, this antique could make a great restoration project!
