A stunningly beautiful example of a Georgian 15ct Gold Ring with scrolled shoulders, set with six pear shaped Opals and a centrally set foiled Demantoid Garnet (please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This fine quality ring, which weighs 2.2 grams, has a beautiful bezel with a diameter of approx\' 9mm that is fashioned as a \'flower\'. The petals are depicted by pear shaped Opals, which display superb pink and green fire and the centre of the \'flower\' is set with a Demantoid Garnet to create a ring that is just sublime.
This wonderful antique ring, which dates from the early 19th Century is in great condition, as shown, with only wear commensurate with age; it is likely thatthe ring has had the shank replaced at some point in the past 120 years (probably by a Victorian Jeweller) and is unmarked, but the ring is guaranteed to be 15ct Gold. On close inspection with a loupe one of the Opals is chipped and there is expected wear to the setting, but this isn\'t noticeable when worn and doesn\'t detract from what is a fabulous ring - more mentioning for descriptivecompleteness.
This beautiful ring is sized at a UK Ring Size \'M\', which equates to a US Ring Size \'6 1/4\'. It comes in it\'s antique heart shaped box (which shows wear to the exterior of the box, for A. L. Bolton Jewellers of 12 Argyle Arcade in Glasgow who probably retailed the ring as pre-owned in the mid 19th Century!
In summary, a sublimely beautiful and typically Georgian Gold Ring set with Opals and Demantoid Garnet - it is quite simply sublime.
