Georgian or early Victorian Cut steel Bangle Bracelet

A very nice rare item

This bracelet is made from cut steel applied to metal. Cut steel jewellery was popular during the Georgian & early Victorian period. It\'s hard to imagine now but in the days of candle light these would have glimmered beautifully. There are 3 of the cut steel pieces missing.

These pieces were handmade, Hundreds of cut steel pieces applied to a frame which has been riveted to a backing. This metal is silvertone, plated over some sort of base metal.

I have also listed another cut steel bangle which I acquired at the same time, very similar but has 5 rows with smaller steel pieces of a similar width. They may have been worn as a pair as pairs of bracelets were also popular. This one has a safety chain.

This is an antique item and has wear commensurate with age. There a 3 pieces of the cut steel missing. A repair may be possible if you have spare pieces. There is slight oxidization in places and the underside has surface wear. It is also not entirely round a little misshapen and I have not attempted to clean this or repair. Considering the age though it\'s pretty good and has a push-in clasp with safety chain.

The pictures are enlarged to show detail and are not actual size. They will, of course, make all detail/flaws look bigger. Colours may also differ slightly depending on what device they are viewed.
