Antique German All Bisque Doll Jointed Glass Eyes 24\" With Antique Carriage
I\'m selling this for a friend who inherited these from her Grandmother in Berlin, Germany. The doll is 24 inches tall. It\'s all bisque and has jointed arms and legs. The eyes are glass and close when laying down and open when standing up. The head has crackling, please see photos. But the head is still very strong. There is a slight crack on the top of both shoulders. But all in all, the doll is in sound structural condition.The rest of the body from the neck down is in excellent vintage condition. No breaks or cracks. The doll has a box on the back and makes sounds when moved or gently shaked.
I have spent a couple hours trying to find the makers mark, but haven\'t had any luck. The closest match that I can possibly suggest is the mark of Carl Bergner. The doll is marked on the back of the neck. Please see photos. It is a circle with what appears to be an S and possibly another letter incoorperated into it. It\'s harder to tell with the crackling on the head.On the back of the right shoulder is the number 4/70. I\'m not positive of the exact age, but my friend thinks the doll is from about the 1920s. I do not know 100% which maker this is however. If someone has an idea that could help me to difinitively identify the maker, I\'d be very grateful!
Also included is an antique doll carriage that also cxame from her Grandmother. It stands about 20 inches tall. 17 inches long and 12 inches wide. The carriage is from the 1950s. It has a wooden frame with wooden wheels topped with a basket. It is in EXCELLENT condition with no flaws other than very minimal age wear. I will also be sending the clothes that are pictured as well as few other doll clothes that aren\'t included in the photos.
