Wonderful antique Christmas tin with an old-fashioned Santa Claus or Father Christmas in brown coat. This little tin tells a story with its artwork. There are four different scenes on each of its four panel sides. The story begins on one end, Santa/Father Christmas is in his toy shop making toys. Two young girls peer through the shop\'s window and watch him with awe as he works. In the scene in the front of the tin, Santa/Father Christmas is in the woods chopping down a small fir tree while a winged angel stands near him watching by his lantern\'s light. The next panel scene shows the angel looking into the window of a home. Two small deer stand beside her and the cut fir tree lays at her feet. In the distance Santa/Father Christmas is arriving via a one horse drawn sleigh. In his hand he holds a long whip to urge his stead to make haste to deliver his toys. Lastly, on the back of the tin, the two young girls gasp in wonder at a beautifully adorned Christmas tree in their home complete with doll and stove beneath it.
