Wonderful antique Santa/Father Christmas riding a polar bear candy container, unmarked but certainly German. Polar bear has glass eyes and leather muzzle, 9\" long x 4.5\" tall, appears to be white felt \"fur\". Santa has beautiful composition face and hands, piercing blue eyes and rabbit fur beard. Santa\'s body is wire armature with \"tomato soup\" color faded felt coat and blue felt pants, cord belt, and composition boots. Santa holds a faded goose feather sprig. He is 5\" tall.

Polar bear has two brown spots on head and overall age related soiling. Cracking to Santa\'s boots. Santa can be removed from polar bear and has what appears to be a small piece of wood and glue adhered to his bottom. Whether or not he originally sat on the polar bear is unknown, but Santa now sits beautifully on the bear - as if they were made for each other.
