Antique tin wind-up carousel, with a cloth canopy, made in the late 1800\'s/early 1900\'s, only marked \"Made in Germany\" on the underside, unknown manufacturer, comes with original wind-up key, and it has been tested and does work-wind it up and it rotates, with the 4 pieces swinging outward, and the wind-up has a 3 note musical feature that works. The 4 tin characters are on metal rods that you place on the wiring on the underside of the canopy, and they have to be evenly placed for stability, for it to balance and work properly. There are two sets of double horses-one dark, one light, and two sets of ladies in gondolas, one light, one dark, and these pieces and the base have surface and paint wear. The three legs on the base are made of a soft bendable metal, and one of the legs is missing a small piece of the leg support. There is also a top ball piece that attaches to the top of the rod, with the America Flag and three smaller Flags-only two are shown in the photo, the third is included, but has become dis-attached to the ball, but does have a hole that it fits into the ball and would need to be re-soldered to permanently reattach it to the ball piece. This piece also has surface and paint wear. The top canopy is made of brown cloth, with metal adornments on the canopy. The canopy cloth has some wear and some of the pom-poms around the edges have come off-I have about 8 of the pom-poms that have come off the canopy. The canopy measures about 12\" in diameter. The toy measures about 13\" tall to the top of the canopy, not including the top ball and Flag piece into the measurement.
