These unmarked gold fill matching bracelets are in excellent antique condition. Some slight surface wear and scratches on inside of bands, almost appears under magnification to have once been inscribed in script, then erased. I cannot make anything out. They are otherwise pristine. In Victorian times it was a custom to give one bracelet to the bride-to-be when engaged, the other given on the wedding day, when both would be worn, one on each wrist. These are beautifully decorated with a floral center, and cross-over leaves and acorns- the latter an ancient symbol of good fortune, prosperity and fertility. They measure 2&3/8\" long by just a fraction under 2\" wide on the inside, allowing for a wrist of up to at least 6.5\". The hinges work well, snap in securely, and there are safety chains. A pair similar to these sold recently on for over $400- but there is nothing quite like these listed at present, and none with acorns.
