Please note the broken and repaired foot on this lovely and other hand carved wood carvings came from the estate of an avid collector of Asian artifacts of all sorts ~ when he passed, so did the knowledge of the items in his collection ~ whether this item is an antique or an antiquity, I cannot say with any certainty ~ this carving does, however, exhibit the characteristics of hand carving without the benefit of power tools, and the wood and paint exhibit what appears to be notable aging.
