This cow bell came off my daddy\'s farm he grew up on. The farm was in North Georgia at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains and this cowbell has been in his family for well over 150 years or maybe longer. He is 78 and he seems to think it belonged to his grandfather or even great grandfathers, as he doesn\'t remember it ever being used when he lived there. He doesn\'t know if his family made it or not. It is hand forged and brads on the side and you can see the imperfections and what looks like repairs done to it on the sides and the bottom front. There are some holes on one side, but the cowbell is solid and with no weak or thin areas or places. It\'s very solid and heavy and could still be used. The donger is strange as it has a thing that slides up and down on it. Maybe to give it an extra ring or sound? It stands 5.5\" tall and 4\" wide. Message with any questions.
