This is a beautiful antique hand sewn quilt in a Flower Basket or Cactus Basket pattern. The quilt is in excellent condition for its age and is completely hand pieced and hand quilted. The quilt contains 30 baskets in a bright red and green, all sewn with an off white cotton muslin background on the front. The back is a much thinner cotton muslin. The green areas of the border can be seen through the backing in some places because the thin cotton batting has slightly shifted, especially on the edges. The quilting is sewn at about 8 stitches per inch. The off white muslin binding is in very good condition and machine stitched.It has one light spot that I have pictured.The quilt measures 70\" X 82\". The quilt has been hand cleaned and is nice and fresh.
