Antique Handmade Lace Placemat 1900’s French Normandy Net Table Doily MatHere is a detailed handmade lace placemat. The antique lace placemat features: net backing with bobbin lace flowers, tambour flowers outline, lace border & in the center of the placemat.The antique lace table doily placemat has been created from small pieces of hand & machine made laces including bobbin lace and outline work. These lace pieces have been been sewed together with extremely tiny hand stitching. The antique lace placemat is done in a patchwork fashion similar to French Normandy work.
The antique lace placemat is from the early 1900’s. The bobbin lace looks to be hand made. The border looks to be be machine made. This is just my opinion and I am not an expert with laces.The antique table placemat is off white cream in color. Please see photos.
Antique Lace Table Placemat measurement: 15\" x 9\".Condition: The antique lace table placemat is in very good pre-owned condition. I saw only 1 very tiny break to the net and 1 very small opening where the lace is held together. The top left lace corner edge looks to be turned under and sewn. I will leave the tiny repairs to the antique lace placemat and washing for the buyer to complete.Code H
