up for your offerding pleasure is this antique handwritten diary or journalwritten by Elder Fredrick Komp, a pastor, farmer, father and husband from the Kendallville area in Indiana covering the years 1890 and 1891.this diary is full! he writes about and includes the names ofmany family members, church associates, and neighbors. he writes about farming,planting, corn wheat berries clover and more. he writes about his hogs including one getting its back broken, his buggy rides, sermons, a sermon on the mount, visiting and praying forsick people, people coming for meals or money when they are hungry and poor, the death of his nephew and attending the funeral services and picking up his nephews remains fromthe railroad.he writes a lot about his sick wife (Elizabeth parker komp)and her eventual death from heart disease, paralysis, diabetes, and a liver tumor. there is a lovely poem about death on one of the pages shortly after her death. he also writes about visitors, the undertaker, and the funeral, and weeping over her death.he writes about many people getting the measles, a horse dying, visiting a lady with \"consumption\", and so much more.the author of this diary was born in Germany in 1828, he had 6 children named George, Margaret, lodema, dessa, eva, and Freddie. hetalks about them and their spouses and children, his wifes family, the parkers, his nephews family the jacksons, and many more. a great day to day account of a great man. he writes about many towns including but not limited to Kendallville south milford, fort wayne, thorns creek (possibly Illinois), and his wife\'s family in Michigan. 159 completely full handwritten pages. Book measures approximately 11 1/2\" x 5 1/2\".A great handwritten piece of history. the diary starts in may of 1890 and ends dec. 1891. I have3 other diaries written by the same man that I have yet to read sokeepchecking back over the next few weeks as I will be listing them as I read them.
