Antique Haviland France Limoges Hand Painted Pickard Signed H. Reury Violets Porcelain Plate Rare 7/16” Pickard Backstamp
Light Brown 7/16” Back Stamp; this is a possible “out of stock or Pickards start up stamp even though it is light brown not dark brown as listed on the Pickard China Collectors Club. It is considered rare. Description ~ Lovely hand painted purple & white violets over primary & pastel washes; this plate was decorated in Pickard’s Carriage Barn studio by Pickard artist Howard Reury sometime during 1903 - 1905.
The Limoges blank was from Haviland and bares a green under glaze Haviland France factory mark, the porcelain itself is very fine and delicate. Haviland & Cie was in operation from 1842 – 1931 and this back stamp was used from 1894 – 1931
The artist Reury’s signature is on the the face and the Pickard mark is on the back.Please view all photos to discern for yourself. My photos are very clean and act as a part of my description. Condition ~ Mint to excellent; Wonderfully clean, there are not any chips, cracks or scratches, the colors are bright and full. **Minor Faults** a couple of surface scrathes that can be seen when held at an angle in natural light.Measurement ~ 8 & 5/8” Marks ~

The artist, Howard Reury, was born in New York in 1870 and painted for Pickard Studios from 1903-1912.
