Antique, highly ornate Chinese export solid silver covered box - Export period, canton, circa 1880.
The entire surface of the hinged lid and body are hand-chased in repousse technique depicting very elaborate flower blossoms and leafage - work quality is of the highest standard - very high and beautifully detailed.
The box bears 2 hallmarks, on the bottom, each containing several Chinese characters.
Excellent condition for the age - very small split at one side of the lid - all original with no losses or repairs - please view detailed pictures
It measures 13.9 cm wide x 7.3 cm deep x 5.3 cm tall - weight is 280.4 grams
