LARGE 8.75\" tall rectangular-shaped beautiful DEEP TURQUOISE AQUA MARINE coloredantique Quack - INDIAN SAGWA - Patent medicine bottle. What sets this bottle above most of the other antique quack Indian Patent Medicine bottles is that this bottle actually even has an embossed picture of an INDIAN CHIEF with HEAD DRESS and REGALIA ! AND THIS BOTTLE has nice BOLD STRONG embossing which is RARE as many of them are so weakly embossed it is hard to even see the feathers in the Indian\'s Head dress but NOT this one, you can see ALL the feathers! The bottle also has a tattered up back label on it, but the label is a facsimile of the real label, a high quality reproduced copy. We copied it ourselves from one of these bottles we have that still has the label remnants on it. This is an early hand Blown Into Mold bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating it back into the 1800\'s.

  • Bottle embossed: \"HEALY & BIGELOW - INDIAN SAGWA\", front panel has the embossed picture of an Indian Chief!.

  • Condition: This bottle is in GOOD SOLID condition. It has traces of white cloudy stain, mostly content, and a little wear which makes it look a little weathered, about what you\'d expect for a 125 year old bottle. There is NOTHING SIGNIFICANTLY wrong with it. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. (See photos for overall condition).

  • Age: A hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. late1800\'s.

  • Shipping: All DOMESTIC shipping charges INCLUDE insurance. We have enjoyed shipping our items all over the world and are happy to offer most of our items to international buyers. Yet insuring International parcels is very expensive so PLEASE NOTE; we do NOT insure International orders unless winning buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance quote. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and send payment acknowledgments and shipping confirmations. Your prompt payment will assure a very quick turn-around time. IMPORTANT NOTE: If our shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is especially important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are rough estimates.

The bottle also has a tattered up back label on it, but the label is a facsimile of the real label, a high quality reproduced copy. We copied it ourselves from one of these bottles we have that still has the label remnants on it. The reason? Seeing as how this is such a rare bottle to find with label, the real thing, the ultimate quack antique medicine bottle, well, there just aren\'t enough of these bottles to go around. So this way, with a copy of the original label on it, many more people can enjoy it now as very few collectors have the means to own one of the originals. The label is very colorful and, like the bottle, has a picture of an Indian on it, with head dress and also like the bottle, the label says \"INDIAN SAGWA\" on it, actually \"KICKAPOO INDIAN SAGWA ... blood, LIVER, STOMACH KIDNEY RENOVATOR\". Back in the day when this bottle was in circulation, the Native American Indian was looked upon with much mystique. Many early-day patent medicine men used them as a symbol to sell their medicines and suggested that their medicines had secret age-old formulas that had been concocted over the centuries by the Native American. This is one of them, Indian Sagwa, that supposedly had some kind of miraculous healing powers from the ingredients that were extracted from different roots and herbs that the Native American Indians had used for centuries to treat such things, plus a little Indian spiritism added to the allure. Though the Indian Sagwa theme tends to lean towards the wild, wild west, this product was bottled by a shyster (Healy or/and Bigelow) in some Eastern industrial center and was composed of little more than a medicinal based liquid with a high alcohol content, a few herbs and some flavoring sprigs mixed in, and quite probably laced with a narcotic ingredient so that a user really would feel \'improved\'. Then it was promoted as a secret ancient Native American healing tonic, that was in essence, the golden medical discovery of the age! What a GREAT sounding QUACK MEDICINE bottle that really says it all \"INDIAN SAGWA?! This is it, the ultimate antique quack bottle, old KICKAPOO INDIAN SAGWA RENOVATOR - AND THIS BOTTLE has nice BOLD STRONG embossing which is RARE as many of them are so weakly embossed it is hard to even see the feathers in the Indian\'s Head dress but NOT this one, you can see ALL the feathers!, check it out!
