ANTIQUE IEAN 217 CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE FRENCH MPODEL 1831 ARTILLERY SHORT SWORD:

For your interest is this very interesting sword.Marked what looks like IEAN on blade and 217 on handle.Handle is brass in color (most likely actual brass) and blade is silver tone (probably steel but I have no clue).This is possibly Confederate or Antique French Mpodel 1831.I do believe it to be an Artillery Short Sword.Measures 25\" long.Blade at widest point is approximately 1 5/8\" thick.
Overall nice condition to be but I am no expert so please see photos for condition and ask any questions.Has a nice patina to it and is sold as found.
