An antique inkwell with a worn gold patina, featuring a a boy playing a flute .....
From an estate, here in Wisconsin. (I bought this piece at the Schrager sale Gallery in Milwaukee around 10-12 years ago. It was part of a huge antique inkwell collection that was being disbursed.)
It measures about 8 1/2\" in length and about 6\" in depth. The height is about 3\" in back. The inkwell weighs about 1 pound. It has an alabaster insert in the base. The gilded metal does not attract a magnet, thus it is solid brass. The flute player has a silver plated finish and the rest of piece has a worn gilded finish.
The condition is fair - to - good, used condition. The finish shows dark spots and wear to gilding. The inkwell liner is broken and glued. The hinged lid has a bit of sloppy \"wobble\" to it.
