Simply outstanding. For sale today we have one original Jean Beauduin (Belgian, 1851-1916) oil painting on canvas in very impressive and beautifully maintained condition as shown. Purchased in Europe over 75 years ago as a honeymoon souvenir, and shipped to the states, we obtained this fine painting from the granddaughter of those dear newlyweds whom resided in Princeton, New Jersey. This estate piece is untitled, fresh to the public, with no sale records. It is untouched and original. The canvas measures 31.25 inches X 26.5 inches. The wood with ornate gesso applied frame measures 44 inches X 39 inches. Canvas is very impressive with no cracking, peeling, or repairs. Frame has mild loss and cracks to gold gesso commensurate with age as pictured. Glass is excellent. (Please pardon glare in photos caused by this glass.) Subject is one that made Beauduin famous; a romantic, Romanesque young lady, draped in robes, seated peacefully on a bench among a garden of flowers, a path, and a mountainside.
