Here for your consideration is a antique Japanese bronze elephant figurine from Meiji Period, stamped mark circa 1868-1912. The piece measures approximately 4 inches in height by 7 inches long (back leg to trunk) by 2 inches wide at the body (longer if you include the swinging of the trunk to the right). Very good condition with a beautiful dark patina and detailed casting. Meiji Period stamp mark is located on the underside. One or both of the tusks may have been replaced some time ago judging by the slight difference in tone when the two are compared. One tusk is splintered along the top, however it\'s not that noticeable since its on the opposite side of the display position. A few small pieces of bronze are loose inside of the casting and can be heard when the piece is shaken. Slight loss of patina at the underside of the feet as there is no padding in place. Please review the photos carefully as they are animportant part of the description and ask questions.
