19th Century Japanese Sake Jug
- The exact age of this jug is unknown to us.
- Salt glazed stoneware with cobalt blue writing & designs. There are lots of Japanese characters written on top and sides of the jug but we cannot translate them. The symbol on the front features 2 flying cranes beneath the writing.
- There is discoloration from the rope ties that would have been encircling the jug. There is a large chip as pictured on one side. The stopper is complete, but has a repair. Please study photos to further ascertain condition.
- Measurements-11 3/4\" height, 9 1/2\" diameter top
- Weight - 13 lbs.
