Antique Japanese netsuke of Shoki leaning on an arm rest being tormented by an Oni. Has inlaid horn buttons and eyes. Edo Period. Good condition-old wear from years of use. Front leg of arm rest missing (wear indicates that it was broken long ago and continued to be used). One of his horn eyes is missing as well as one of his three buttons on his coat. Measures 1 1/4 inches high, 7/8 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches long. I will be listing a large collection of Chinese and Japanese antiques in the next few weeks so remember to check back often.
