What a sweet little piece! Picked this up at a local flea market, where the seller, probably in his 70s, couldonlytell me that he remembered hisgrandmother bringing it back along with other souvenirs after a trip to \"The Orient\". It\'s asmalllacquered dresser box, complete with three drawers in graduating sizes, bow-shaped metal drawer pulls, painteddecorations on the red drawers and small coin on either side of the pulls for added pizazz...Pleasecheck the pictures carefully for condition---lots of missing lacquer along the edges of the box, with most of the wear on the four little feet and the rear edges. Lookingfrom the front, the bottom right side needs to bereglued, and each picture will show cracks in the lacquered surface, especially along the seams where the piece was held together. It looks as though some of the red paint on the drawers is peeling, but it\'s hard to tell if this is part of the design or a condition of wear. Each surface is decorated with delicate hand-paintedflowers. When trying to research the coins on the front, I was able to find one almost identical to the rectangular piece on the top drawer, and it was a Japanese coin. The pulls are simple split-tab style (see pic 9), and while it may be hard to see, the metal tabs beneath the drawers (connecting it from front to back---see pic 5) and the drawer pulls have designs on them. Each drawer opens and closes easily enough, and the entire interior is crudely painted. This well may havebeen a tourist item...even so, for an antique piece of Orientalia, it\'s got all the right elements---right down to the unreadable paper label on the bottom. Measures 4.5\" long, 2.5\" wide and 5.5\" high.
Patient high buyers receive a discount from when labels are printed online. It can range anywhere from a few cents to a few bucks, but if you pay before I can invoice you, that discount will not apply. Please wait for the invoice---it\'s an exact shipping amount, right from the USPS website to you....I usually send one within an hour after an sale ends. I ship within five business days of receiving payment. The only way to accurately calculate shipping and insurance is to have a final offer amount, soplease don\'t pay \'s invoice! Please wait for my invoice, which is for actual shipping costs and includes delivery confirmation, insurance and an on-line discount. I mostly accept Paypal, but if you need other payment options, just let me know. Please read the fine print below---it will explain how I run my sales---but don\'t hesitate to email with any questions if I haven\'t covered them in my \'stuff to read\'.Thanks for looking!

Please take a minute to read my rants and raves...

All of what I sell is old, so buyers should keep in mind that an item might have some imperfections which are normal and characteristic of old stuff. I try to catch every flaw, but I\'m not perfect and can sometimes miss something.I prefer not to take returns, but will always try to work with a high buyer to resolve any issues.I try to start my sales with a reasonable opening offer, and offer free shipping whenever possible.I\'m not a professional, and don\'t pretend to be, so I welcome \"kind\" comments with a smile and get rid of the rest. I don\'t \"fluff\" a description to cover any flaws, as that\'s messing with karma, and we all know thatkarmacan get you at any time. I try to be easy to work with and am honest to a fault, so accusations of \'funny stuff\' will land you a prime spot on my blocked buyers list. I try to give you the lowest shipping rate available, and shipping is combined whenever possible, but I won\'t pack cast iron with pottery, so don\'t even ask!Remember--I have a 5-business day window for shipping, but this is a worst case scenario time frame....I usually will ship within 3 days. If I anticipate a delay, I\'ll let you know.PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE.Shipping discounts are given when labels are printed online, and I can pass along those discounts only if the high buyer waits for my invoice.International offers are welcome, butanything over 4 pounds costs an arm and a leg to ship, so I\'d suggest emailing for shipping charges before you offer.I normally don\'t refundshipping costsfor returned items, but there are exceptions to every rule, and if I find I\'ve screwed up royally, you\'ll get it all back. I don\'t buy new packing material (think RECYCLE), but will be happy to buy new supplies for anybody who wants them--just let me know and I\'ll add the Staples bill to your invoice. I feel I do a good packing job, but have no control over the USPS drop-and-kick method of testing secure packages, so insurance is a gotta-have.And this is so important: IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANY PART OF OUR TRANSACTION, PLEASE EMAIL ME SO IT CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE YOU LEAVE NEGATIVE response!!!To recap: please check the sale descriptions, don\'t pay till you get an invoice, ask questions and email with concerns. I love communication, check my email daily and do my best to address concernsthe same day I get them. Whew! Think that\'s about it.
