Up for sale is a Standing Jizo Bosatsu, the hands forming the gassho adoration mudra, sculpted in relief from granite. Clearly dated to the ninth year of the Tenpo Era (1838), late-Edo Period. Very minor old loss, with softening of the lines and contours overall.

A classic Edo-Period Jizo stone, clearly dated, with a bonji (Siddham character) symbolizing Jizo Bosatsu incised above the figure\'s head. Perfect for either indoor or outdoor display.
