Antique Japanese Tobacco Box. Wwii Time Period Or Earlier.:
This is a very old antique Japanese Tobacco tin. It is extremely well made, and there is something of interest to look at from every side, top and bottom. Every individual surface has a different scene on it. This Tobacco box is also in remarkably clean condition. There is just a tiny tiny bit of paint thinning (I have taken many photos for you to judge the condition yourself). The top of the box seals like an actual humidor, with the lid and box cut so that the box seals very tightly against the lid (preserving the integrity of any Tobacco product inside). The wood is a cedar, which is typical for humidors, as cedar is a self-regulating wood; Cedar will absorb excess moisture and release moisture when the internal Environment becomes dry. The wood is in very good condition with only a hint of any wear at all. Two of the photos show the measurement of the Tobacco box (with the tape measure). The hinges operate very well, only showing a very very slight bit of wear at all.
This has been used but used very little (which is remarkable for its age). This item would be perfect for daily use (Just the right size for cigarettes or to use with loose pipe Tobacco). In reality it's a showpiece that any collector would be proud to own.
