This is an sale for a vintage doll. She\'s really a mystery! Even my sister, a Doll Lady, was stumped by this 19\" beauty. She has a vintage kid leather body which is jointed at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Though obviously old, it is in quite good shape. It is secured with aged metal buttons at hips, knees, shoulders, etc The kid body has something I\'ve never seen: kid leather feet with individually stitched \'toes\'!
Then she has a simply gorgeous bisque head and arms which may be antique but due to their excellent condition, I think may be reproductions. If you\'re a doll expert, you be the judge! Her feathered brows, lip paint and painted lashes are spectacular! Her socket head is fitted into her shoulders,so her head can swivel at the neck.
She has no pate or wig, and a flaw in her left hand where she\'s missing just the tips of her middle fingers. (Please see photos.)The only marking I could see is an etched \"13\" (could be \"73\") on the back of her neck, and then there is handwriting on the top of her head where it says \"142 B hands / legs\" which makes no sense as her arms are bisque and her legs are kid. I included interior photos of her head so you can better judge her vintage and worth, She is 3 1/2 inches across her breast plate.
This bisque beauty is froman adult collector and is just waiting for a restorer to attach a pate and wig, dress and display her! I\'m not sure if she\'s a repro head on a vintage body, or all vintage - and her starting price reflects that. (I have sold a kid body before, sans head, for $80, and this one is hinged and in even better condition!)
